We're Putting Down Roots!
As 2025 comes to a close, we've wrapped year 5 and started our 6th year strong! Even more exciting than celebrating 5 years? Putting down roots our own land in 2026! We've been working with the office of Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez of District 7 to take over a vacant lot in order to turn it into our very own urban farm - a win for BTF and for the San Fernando Valley. All of our programming will stay true to what everyone knows and loves but will now be bigger and better than ever!
We're aiming to raise $15,000 so that we're ready to start building as soon as we move in. Building out the space as quickly as possible means little to no interruption to programming that serves teens and community members across the Valley and LA area. Transforming vacant land into a safe, liberatory green space is no small feat and we need every dollar we can get to make it happen.
This new land will allow us to expand all of our programming exponentially. We'll have more space to teach youth, host community events, and grow more food and flowers. By donating today you're a part of expanding access to fresh, locally grown food and flowers and you're helping to create more green space in the SFV!
Check out what we have planned!

Our new home will include:
The Youth Learning Garden where we'll conduct our teen programming, including Farm Hands and our Farm Visits, and all produce grown will be given to our program participants for free.
The Community Garden where community members can harvest food, get their hands in the soil, and cultivate their relationship with the land for free.
The Market Garden where we'll grow all of the fruits, veggies, and herbs available for purchase - all at affordable prices.
The Cut Flower Garden where we'll grow all of the cut flowers available for purchase and train youth and community in flower farming and floral design - because our people deserve joy and beauty just as much as healthy food.
The Gathering Space where we'll host community events like our Día de Los Muertos Celebration, our Seed Swap, and our film screenings!
